Legend of Zeldub EP

Video game influenced music is a pretty hot commodity these days, and although it can be a bit tedious when done the wrong way, if produced correctly it can make for an extremely rewarding listening experience.

Enter, NYC-based producer Decktonic, we’ve covered some of his material here on TGD in the past, and today we’ve got a brand new EP to unleash on all of you.

Aptly titled, the Legend of Zeldub EP features two bass-heavy tracks, that are wonky, synth-laden and heavily seasoned with 8-bit blips and beeps.

Goron Mode is a lazy, more tribal offering featuring  plenty of “womp womps” and bass-y moans, while Zora Mode is held together by a strong, driving kick drum, pixel explosions and distorted arpeggios. Both are a lot of fun to listen too, and although they aren’t anything extremely complex, the production is great and the song’s progression keeps things interesting.

Listen. Download. Reminisce ( you know, about video games..)
